Working Capital Booklet GCSE Business Studies

Working Capital Booklet GCSE Business Studies

(2)
This is a four page booklet designed for GCSE Business Studies to introduce Working Capital. Students must first (on page 2) decide whether each item is an asset or liability and whether the assets are fixed or current and the liabilities are long-term or current. On page 3 they review what assets and liabilities are. On page 4 they must write the formula for working capital (Current Assets - Current Liabilities) and then calculate in an exam style question. Enjoy!

Business Proposal - an EASY introduction to Business Studies (display opportunity)

Print this sheet on A3. This is a quite engaging and relatively accessible start to Business Studies, particularly for Year 9 or low ability groups OR useful for PSHE or Enterprise lessons. They DRAW their idea for a business (there’s a shop front, so most will come up with businesses in retail, though could equally be a service based business like Estate Agents etc.). They then design a logo, flyer and come up with a business name. After this (which is a good introduction), I teach GOODS and SERVICES and SECTORS then get them to complete their sheet fully. I also get them to colour and make it look good for display. I’ve also included a version I made for new students who had just arrived from Poland. Enjoy.

Business Location - Choosing an appropriate location - Starter Task / Discussion

A nice little task when teaching Business Location. Print or display the drawn choices of possible locations. Students complete the handout by selecting an appropriate location (by letter) and giving their reasons for their choice. There's no answer sheet, but selections should be appropriate with sensible reasoning. This could then lead to a class discussion, a nice starter! Apologies for my drawings! I'm no artist... Enjoy

Learners cut out the three titles of ownership types from the right hand side. Around/below these titles they arrange the cut outs that appear on the left of the sheet. Excellent for revision after teaching attributes of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Updated with answers!

Two worksheets that discuss how predicted sales could be determined for R068 of the Enterprise and Marketing course. Four separate approaches that hopefully your learners implement when it comes to their later assignment (or combine methods for an even better approach). Obviously not for use during the assignment itself! Find more resources on our website, (Google Mean Business). This resource in detail: Format: PDF Editing: Not editable Content: 2 x A4 Worksheets
